LONDON CALLING

After the critically acclaimed American premiere of JACK CANFORA'S play PLACE SETTING last season at NJ Rep. Producer Adam Weinstock (Broadway’s Deuce with Angela Lansbury and Marion Seldes) is taking his comedy to London. Creative Concept Productions at The Soho Theatre in London will present two staged readings this summer July 21st and 22nd.

The cast for the UK reading will feature Cassidy Janson (Elphaba in West End production of Wicked) Alan Cox (National tour of Frost/Nixon) and Deborah Cornelius (Masterpiece Theater) as well as David Bishins ("Law and Order" "The Guiding Light") and Kristen Moser ("Anger Management")



"Place Setting" had its world premiere last June at the New Jersey Repertory Company, after being read in Hollywood directed by Howie Deutch (Gleason, The Replacements, Article 99, The Whole Ten Yards) and starring Jon Cryer (Pretty in Pink, Two and a Half Men CBS) and Steven Weber (Wings, Studio 60 NBC).



-THE NEW YORK TIMES wrote "Place Setting... has snap, crackle and pop...Mr. Canfora has created familiar — but not clichéd — characters, kept on their toes by unusually punchy writing...laced with fast-flying zingers."

-The NJ Star Ledger says PLACE SETTING is filled with "incisive wit" and "tells the truth about how 21st century men and women view relationships and marriage."

The reading will be staged by director Evan Bergman (Staged the original American production of A GIRL CALLED DUSTY – Which is moving to the West End in the Winter- and Off Broadways Machiavelli and The Director) who also directed the America premiere.

Mr. Canfora's latest play, “Poetic License” will have its World Premiere at NJ Rep this Fall.
